Hussong's Cantina A must-see place in Ensenada.
Hussong's Cantina is the oldest and best-known cantina in Baja California. It is located in Ensenada and was established in 1892. Hussong's is the place where the Margarita cocktail was created in October 1941 by bartender Don Carlos Orozco. He concocted a mixture of equal parts tequila, Damiana (Cointreau is used now) and lime, served over ice in a salt-rimmed glass for Margarita. This cocktail is still one of the most popular in Mexico today.
Cantina looks like an old-style western saloon, complete with saloon doors and wooden floors with sawdust and peanut shells on them. Be aware though the margaritas seem to be small they are stronger than they taste and appear. We were a little disappointed that there was no food only drinks. So, make sure to eat before you go there. A nice local touch is the game of Mariachi, who, for a small fee, play different songs, creating a truly Mexican atmosphere.

Jest to najstarsza i najbardziej znana kantyna w Baja California, założona w 1892 roku w Ensenadzie. Jest to miejsce, w którym w październiku 1941 roku barman Don Carlos Orozco stworzył słynny koktajl Margarita. Wymieszał równe części Tequili, Damiany (obecnie stosuje się Cointreau) i limonki, i podał na lodzie w specjalnym kieliszku z otoczonym w soli brzegiem. Koktajl ten do dziś jest jednym z najpopularniejszych w Meksyku.
Kantyna przypomina zachodni salon w starym stylu, z wahadłowymi drzwiami i drewnianymi podłogami pokrytymi trocinami i skorupkami z orzechów.
Pamiętaj, że choć Margarity wydają się małe, są bardzo mocne. Byliśmy trochę rozczarowani, że w kantynie nie podaje się jedzenia, jedynie napoje i orzeszki. Warto więc pamiętać aby cos zjeść przed pojęciem do Hussong’s. Miłym lokalnym akcentem jest gra Mariachi, którzy przychodzą i na zamówienie, za drobna oplata, grają różne piosenki, tworząc prawdziwie meksykańską atmosferę.
