Santiago de Chile, day 1. Zwiedzanie Santiago de Chile, dzień 1.
After having breakfast at the Singular Hotel, we set off for a private tour of Santiago. We started our trip from its central location: Plaza de Armas with the Metropolitana Cathedral. Then we went to the palace of La Moneda - the presidential palace of Chile and the Plaza de la Constitucion where we watched the change of guard. After a few minutes of walking, we reached Mercado Central, a market with numerous restaurants and seafood stalls. Another highlight of the program was the highest hill in Santiago - Saint Christopher’s Hill. At the top, we took a gondola called the funicular, where the entrance was designed by the Chilean architect of Polish origin - Luciano Kulczewski. When we got to the top, we admired the beautiful panorama of Santiago surrounded by the Andes. There, you can visit a church and an amphitheater. Next to the entire complex, there is a 22-meter statue of the Virgin Mary, the patron of the country and the symbol of the city. There is 1987, John Paul II held Mass during his visit to Chile.
At the end of our tour, we went to Los Dominicos - a place filled with stalls and boutiques run by local craftsmen and jewelers where we ate lunch.
After that, we headed to the airport and flew to Punta Arenas.

Po śniadaniu w Hotelu Singular wyruszyliśmy na prywatne zwiedzanie miasta. Wycieczkę rozpoczęliśmy od jego centralnego miejsca: Plaza de Armas z katedrą Metropolitana. Następnie przeszliśmy do pałacu La Moneda – siedziby prezydentów Chile i Plaza de la Constitucion gdzie obserwowaliśmy zmianę warty. Po kilku minutach spaceru dotarliśmy do Mercado Central, miejsca z licznymi restauracjami i stoiskami sprzedającymi owoce morza. Kolejnym punktem programu bylo najwyższe wzniesienie w Santiago, Wzgórze Świętego Krzysztofa. Na górę wjechalismy kolejką linową nazywaną funicular, której wejście zaprojektował chilijski architekt pochodzenia polskiego – Luciano Kulczewski. Z góry podziwialiśmy przepiękną panoramę Santiago w otoczeniu Andów. Na szczycie znajduje się kościół i amfiteatr. Obok całego kompleksu znajduje się 22-metrowa statua Matki Boskiej, patronki państwa i symbolu miasta. W tym miejscu w 1987 roku Jan Paweł II odprawił mszę świętą w trakcie swej wizyty w Chile.
Na zakończenie pojechaliśmy do Los Dominicos, miejsca przepełnionego kramami i butikami prowadzonymi przez lokalnych rzemieślników i jubilerów, gdzie zjedliśmy lunch.
Po zakończeniu zwiedzania udaliśmy się na lotnisko i polecieliśmy do Punta Arenas.
