Boat trip to Balmaceda y Serrano Glaciers. Day 2, Patagonia. Rejs łodzią do Lodowców Balmaceda i Ser
After eating breakfast at the Hotel Rio Serrano, we set off for the next day of our adventure. At about 9:00 am, we went to the Pueblito del Serrano from where we took a rafting tour of the Serrano River. Dressed in special, very warm, and waterproof jackets that were handed out by the driver, we got on to the rafts and we started our trip. The majestic mountains and blue lakes transformed into green forests, low hills, and pastures. We passed by the Tyndall Glacier but unfortunately, we couldn’t spend much time there because we had to escape from the increasing rain and strong winds. We were frozen and a little soaked, despite wearing thick sweaters and windbreakers. In this weather, we reached the point where we had to get off of the boat and walk through the beautiful forest to the foot of the Serrano Glacier. The view of the glacier that emerged from in between the mountains above the turquoise-gray lake was breathtaking. We admired the area while we sipped on whiskey with ice from the glacier.
After that, we returned to the boat which took us to Puerto Natales.
During the cruise, we warmed up a little in a glass-covered cabin, drinking Pisco Sours with glacial ice, while we admired another glacier called Balmaceda. During the boat ride, we stopped and ate lunch at Estancia Perales.
We returned by boat to Puerto Natales through the Fiord of the Last Hope. Those were the last beautiful views and it was time to say goodbye to Patagonia. The cruise ended at around 5 pm. In the meantime, our luggage was transported to Puerto Natales. There we met with the driver who after a short walk in Puerto Natales, took us to the airport in Punta Arenas, from where we flew to Santiago and Hotel Le Reve.

Po śniadaniu w hotelu Rio Serrano wyruszyliśmy na kolejny dzień naszego zwiedzania. Około godziny 9:00 pojechaliśmy do Pueblito del Serrano skąd rozpoczęliśmy spływ pontonami po rzece Serrano. Ubrani w specjalne, bardzo cieple i nieprzemakalne kurtki, rozdawane przez przewoźnika, wsiedliśmy na pontony i rozpoczęliśmy nasza przygodę. Majestatyczne góry i błękitne jeziora pozostawiliśmy za nami i wpłynęliśmy w zielone lasy, niskie pagórki z krzaczastą roślinnością oraz pastwiska, minęliśmy lodowiec Tyndall, którego nie podziwialiśmy zbyt długo, gdyż musieliśmy rozpocząć ucieczkę przed silnym wiatrem i narastającym deszczem. Zmarznięci i przemoczeni, mimo grubych swetrów i wiatrówek, dopłynęliśmy do punktu, skąd w strugach deszczu, rozpoczęliśmy wędrówkę po przepięknym, dziewiczym lesie do stóp lodowca Serrano. Widok wyłaniającego się z pośród gór nad turkusowo-szarym jeziorem lodowca zapierał dech w piersiach. Podziwialiśmy okolice popijając whisky z lodem z naszego lodowca.
Po zakończeniu spaceru wróciliśmy na statek, którym popłynęliśmy w kierunku Puerto Natales.
Podczas rejsu, ogrzaliśmy się w przeszklonej kajucie, degustując Pisco Sour z lodem z lodowca oraz podziwialiśmy kolejny lodowiec Balmaceda.
Na obiad stanęliśmy w Estancia Perales.
To były ostanie cudne widoki, nadszedł czas pożegnania z Patagonią i rejs powrotny w kierunku Puerto Natales, przez Fiord Ostatniej Nadziei. Rejs skończyliśmy ok. godziny 17. W międzyczasie nasze bagaże zostały przetransportowane do Puerto Natales. Tam spotkaliśmy się z kierowcą, który po krótkim spacerze, zawiózł nas na lotnisko w Punta Arenas skąd polecieliśmy do Santiago i Hotelu Le Reve.
