Valparaiso and Vina del Mar 1 day tour. Zwiedzanie Valparaiso i Vina del Mar.
After visiting the vineyard Casas Del Bosque, we went to the city, which until the opening of the Panama Canal in 1914 served as one of the largest ports and industrial centers on the continent. The place of the future Valparaiso was discovered in 1536 and is situated on 45 hills. Its old part in 2003 was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
We started the tour with the "taken sea" part of the city, then we saw the cathedral of Valparaiso, the heart of the city - Plaza Sotomayor with the buildings of the city administration and the railway station “Puerto”. It is worth finding time for a short walk because the area is beautiful with many churches, parks, boulevards, theatres, and cafes. Nearby there is also a port with many ships of the Chilean navy and large transport vessels.
The next point of our program was a famous viewpoint from which we enjoyed the breathtaking panorama of the city and the port. We took a very old "lift" to get to the lookout hill, and from there it was a short walk through the picturesque, crowded streets with local shops to the viewpoint. After taking a few photos and shopping some colorful artistic products in small local shops, we went to the popular holiday resort Viña del Mar, where after a short walk on the oceanfront promenade we stopped for dinner in the picturesque restaurant located in "Club Arabe", Valparaiso. Po zwiedzeniu winnicy Casas Del Bosque, udaliśmy się do miasta, które do czasu, gdy w 1914 r. otwarty został kanał panamski pełniło rolę jednego z największych portów i ośrodków przemysłowych na kontynencie. Miejsce przyszłego Valparaiso odkryte zostało w roku 1536 i położone jest na 45 wzgórzach. Jego stara część w 2003 roku została wpisana na listę światowego dziedzictwa UNESCO.
Zwiedzanie rozpoczęliśmy od „zabranej morzu” części miasta, potem zobaczyliśmy katedrę Valparaiso, a następnie serce miasta – Plaza Sotomayor z budynkami administracji miejskiej oraz dworcem Puerto. Warto znaleźć chwilkę na krótki spacer gdyż w pobliżu znajduje się wiele kościołów, parków, bulwarów, teatrów i kawiarni. Niedaleko położony jest też port z licznymi statkami marynarki chilijskiej i dużymi transportowcami.
Kolejnym punktem naszego programu był wjazd bardzo starą i skrzypiącą „kolejka” na wzgórze widokowe, z którego po krótkim spacerze malowniczymi uliczkami przepełnionymi ludźmi oraz lokalnymi sklepikami, doszliśmy do punktu widokowego z którego rozciągała się zapierająca dech w piersiach panorama miasta i portu.
Po zrobieniu kilku pamiątkowych zdjęć oraz zakupach kolorowych wyrobów artystycznych w małych lokalnych sklepikach pojechaliśmy do popularnego kurortu wypoczynkowego Viña del Mar, gdzie po spacerze po nad-oceanicznej promenadzie zatrzymaliśmy się na obiad w malowniczo położonej restauracji znajdującej się w „Club Arabe”, Valparaiso. Po obiedzie wróciliśmy do Santiago.
